The Practical Nursing Program at Kiamichi Tech prepares students to become licensed practical nurses (LPN). Students will learn the role of the LPN and how to care for a variety of patients including geriatric, pediatric, oncology, and pre/post-operative patients. Students will learn how to identify patient disease and disorder processes, engage in appropriate interventions and evaluate nursing care. Graduates of this program will be eligible to take the NCLEX-PN NEXT GEN and become licensed through the Board of Nursing.
The program curriculum and clinical settings are enhanced in a collaborative environment characterized by active, responsible student involvement and instructors who function as facilitators, experts and resources. Students are responsible for their own learning, while faculty are responsible for maintaining an expert knowledge base, managing the learning environment to the maximum benefit of the learner, and implementing teaching strategies and methodologies to meet student learning styles.
