Anne Brooks sworn in as Kiamichi Tech Board Member

WILBURTON, Okla. – Anne Brooks, Dean at Eastern Oklahoma State College, McAlester Campus, took the oath of office to serve on the Kiamichi Tech Board of Education at the Board Meeting on December 9, 2020. Brooks will represent Zone 1 of the Kiamichi Tech District.

“We are excited to have Ms. Brooks join our Board of Education,” said Superintendent Shelley Free. “She has a proven commitment to student success and extensive knowledge and experience in workforce and economic development."

Ms. Brooks joined the staff of EOSC in 2006, and served as an academic director, advisor and grant director, culminating in her being named to her present position as Dean of EOSC, McAlester Campus.

“I am honored to serve on the Kiamichi Tech Board of Education,” said Brooks. “I look forward to working with other board members and the Kiamichi Tech administration to prioritize the educational needs of all students in southeast Oklahoma.”

Brooks is an active community member, serving on the McAlester Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the Pittsburg County Local Service Coalition and as the Survivor Chairman for Relay for Life of Pittsburg County. She is also a part of various other education organizations and committees, including the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education Economic Development Council, Council of Extended Branch Campus Administrators and the EOSC Budget Committee. She has a Master of Arts in Adult and Higher Education Administration from The University of Texas at San Antonio and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from West Virginia University.
