Kiamichi Tech Employees Receive ACTE Awards at National Conference

WILBURTON, Okla. – Employees at Kiamichi Tech recently received national awards and recognition at the Association of Career and Technical Education’s (ACTE) annual VISION conference in Phoenix, Arizona. Kiamichi Tech is honored to announce these outstanding employees: 

  • Lauren Wren received the 2023 PACE Outstanding Training Activity award for the Electrical Lineman Training Program. Wren is the Workforce & Economic Development Coordinator at Kiamichi Tech – Hugo. 
  • Melyssa Lynch was recognized as the 2023 New & Related Services Division Support Staff Member of the Year. Lynch is the Executive Assistant to the Board of Education & Superintendent, 
  • Nina Morgan was recognized as the Region IV nominee for the ACTE Lifetime Achievement Award and was inducted into the ACTE Hall of Fame. Morgan, a life-long educator, retired from Kiamichi Tech in 2022 as the district’s Instructional Coach. 

“We are proud that the accomplishments of our team members have been recognized at the national level,” said Kiamichi Tech Superintendent Shelley Free. “The work they do is important to our students and to our district.” 

ACTE awards recognize individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to CTE, programs that exemplify the highest standards and organizations that have conducted activities to promote and expand CTE programs. Award winners serve as inspirational leaders to ACTE and embody the core values of serving their students and being committed to CTE, according to the ACTE website.
