Huber Awards $195,000 ‘Impact Your Community’ Funding Grant to Kiamichi Tech - Idabel

IDABEL, Okla. – J.M. Huber Corporation (Huber) recently awarded a grant of $195,000 to Kiamichi Tech - Idabel for a community STEM classroom and lab.

The grant was part of Huber’s global commitment and initiative – called Huber Helps - to donate one percent of its net income annually to philanthropic causes around the world. The Company specifically focuses on environmental, housing, education and humanitarian causes as part of its strategic approach to community engagement and philanthropy.

Huber employee Crystal Prevatte, Storeroom Coordinator at Huber’s Broken Bow Plant submitted an Impact Your Community funding application on behalf of Kiamichi Tech in October 2021. The submission was one of several globally that was approved for funding in 2022.

The Impact Your Community funding program is one component of Huber Helps that invites employees to apply for funding that can be used to contribute to projects that can benefit a community for multiple years or generations. The goal is to support projects that offer Huber the opportunity to leave a lasting legacy in communities around the world where Huber operates.

Projects were evaluated on the following criteria:

  • provides multi-year benefits to the community
  • organization has a robust governance structure and is a registered charity or its equivalent in its jurisdiction
  • multiple Huber employees can volunteer or get involved with the project
