BEST/STEP Summer Program
Ready to gain work experience and improve your job readiness? Participate in a one-week employment training followed by a four-week part-time paid internship.
Program Details
- Application required.
- Student must be at least 16 years old, returning to school in August 2025, and have either a documented disability, be a client of the Department of Rehabilitation Services, or potentially eligible for services due to a disability.
- If selected, the student and parent or guardian must attend an interview and orientation session.
- After applying, we will try to match the student’s interest with a career (for example: working in an office, food service, retail, manufacturing, construction, law enforcement, aviation, medical, animals, oil/gas). The student will have the opportunity to work part-time up to 25 hours a week for a business in their community in an area of their interest while earning a paycheck.
- STEP interns must meet federal I-9 employment eligibility verification requirements to participate. Visit the Oklahoma Transition Services website to learn more.
