Advanced Standing Applications
Eligibility: For students from other PN programs who withdrew in good standing, within the last two years, and who wish to finish their PN program at Kiamichi Tech. Pre-requisite courses apply.
Important: If you are applying for advanced standing in the Practical Nursing program, it is essential that you carefully review all information before beginning your application. This includes reading the Advanced Standing Admission Policy and checking course prerequisites. Completing each step in order will help ensure a smooth application process.
Steps to Apply for Advanced Standing
Selection Process
All applications meeting the admission criteria will be reviewed. Qualified applicants will be selected for interviews. Kiamichi Tech will determine the number of applicants interviewed. Applicants chosen for interviews will be notified by email within two (2) weeks of the scheduled interview dates. Interviews for the Part-Time programs will be conducted in May. Interviews for the Full-Time programs will be conducted in June.
Following interviews, applicants’ points for entrance requirements will be added to the interview points for a TOTAL SCORE. Selection for admission will be based on the TOTAL SCORE. The highest-ranking applicants will be admitted. Applicants will be notified of admission, waitlisted, or non-admission by email within one (1) week of the interviews.
The number of applicants selected for admission is limited. If selected for admission, continued enrollment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check and sex offender registry check, required drug screening, and clinical placement. Those selected for admission will be required to attend the PN Signing Event and campus orientation. Please attend to ensure admission.
