training for

Cheyenne Bailey
Current KTC Poteau Student

Cheyenne Bailey is not your average high school senior.  She is a home schooled student who grew up around the welding industry and decided to obtain her welding certifications at the Kiamichi Technology Center – Poteau Campus.  When asked how she feels about society’s stereotypes, Cheyenne states, “I believe it is unfair to judge others’ abilities based on their gender.  I love to weld and don’t mind getting dirty.  However, I cannot cook and I think it is great to see guys step out of society’s boundaries to become chefs.”  Cheyenne’s welding instructor, Dennis Thomas, said, “Cheyenne is all business.  She takes her work seriously and is an excellent student.”
