masonry

Brick, Stone, Block, Concrete and Ceramic Tile

If you are creative and want to develop skills that will always be in demand, the Masonry Program offers that opportunity. One of the oldest crafts, masonry has been used nearly everywhere you look whether it is on a single-story home, bank, church or a sweeping high rise. The Masonry Program teaches how to take brick, block or rock and create beautiful structures. Students will learn the necessary trade procedures in their order of occurrence, along with related information at each phase of training. Through hands-on experience in the various construction areas, students will become skillful in the use of hand and power tools as they study the various construction materials. Throughout their training, students will concentrate on the layout and construction of walls, footing and foundations, plan and build fireplaces, chimneys and other skills and techniques commonly used in the masonry trade.
